Official Jenson Button home page

Thank you to everyone who competed in and supported the 2014 Jenson Button Trust Triathlon. It was a huge success and together we raised a huge amount for Cancer Research UK.

You can see more pictures of the day on Jenson's Facebook page here:

My life has always been about the need for speed, but supporting Cancer Research UK is my most pressing and important challenge yet. All the money we raise will fund life-saving research to help beat cancer sooner. Over the next two and half years, with your support, I aim to raise £2million to drive forward the day when all cancers are cured.

I’m also asking each participant to raise £500 sponsorship for Cancer Research UK. Every pound donated helps to beat cancer sooner and in the fight against cancer, every second counts.

The triathlon was extremely popular last year, so make sure you sign up here sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

I look forward to joining you on the start line at Luton Hoo Spa in July!

Back to back races! Jenson's #HungarianGP thoughts here: "As you know, this has been a special place for me for some time. I won my first grand prix here back in 2006 " it was one of those day when everything seemed to go my way " and I won my 200th grand prix here. That was an emotional day " and it was back in 2011 " I can't believe it was nearly 60 races ago. "The Hungaroring is a great track. Everybody thinks of it as a slow circuit, but, out the back, it's got some pretty decent corners " Turn Four requires some serious commitment, and it's made harder because it has a blind apex. Equally, the sequence of S-bends that make up Turns Eight to 11 are really satisfying to drive. "Nonetheless, it's still a circuit where you require lots of downforce and grip, and I think we are making positive steps in that direction."

After watching the race back think I overreacted with my feelings about Lewis's move. I can understand why he thought I was giving him room.

Jenson's #Quali Report here: "This hasn't been an easy weekend for me, which is a shame because I really like it around here. I've been struggling with the car's balance. "In qualifying, I encountered traffic [Grosjean] on my first run in Q2, and that cost me the opportunity to get into Q3 " he wasn't even on a new tyre when he was on that run, so it wasn't going to be his quick lap. "On my final Q2 run, I had a very different balance and a lot of oversteer. I wasn't quick enough. "Looking ahead to tomorrow: our long-run pace didn't look too strong on Friday " we struggled in the hot conditions, but I think we'll hopefully be better if the predicted cooler conditions roll in for Sunday afternoon."

"It's all about managing the tyres" - Jenson's Free Practice Report: "Looking at the timesheets, you'd say we look quite good, but we're finding it a little bit tougher over the long-runs. I think we're overheating the tyres under traction. It's so difficult to manage the tyres in these temperatures, and it's especially hard to get the Supersoft tyre working correctly without overheating it. "We were able to test lots of interesting things today " and, for me, there's more to come tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll also have the new rear wing fitted to my car. Sometimes, it's difficult to know what the advantage it gives, especially when you only get a few laps on Saturday morning to try it, but it'll be interesting to give it a go. "The car didn't feel any different without our FRIC system " it wouldn't really make a massive difference around here anyway. "As ever, we'll just make the best out of what we've got " and I think we can push a bit harder tomorrow."
